When a Russian entrepreneur asked us to redesign Hecho a Mano, a Russian language cigar magazine, we decided to up the challenge. In addition to creating the first men’s luxury lifestyle magazine which celebrates Mother Russia herself, we changed the focus away from cigars but to “hecho a mano” made by hand.

This led us to developing a retail concept for them. The shops would celebrate and provide access to the small hand-focused craftsmen making the finest products available, and provide a steady income to this dying breed. A welcomed take on luxury in a world where mass produced good with a logo attached is considered “finery”.
